Description

A refreshing and crunchy salad made with raw broccoli, crispy bacon, tangy red onion, and a creamy sweet-tangy dressing. Perfect for potlucks and barbecues.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 red onion, finely diced
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/3 cup sunflower seeds or sliced almonds
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries or raisins
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar

Instructions

  1. Chop the broccoli into small, bite-sized florets and place them in a large bowl.
  2. Finely dice the red onion and add it to the broccoli.
  3. Cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble it and add to the bowl.
  4. Add shredded cheddar cheese, sunflower seeds, and dried cranberries.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and honey until smooth.
  6. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss until everything is evenly coated.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
