- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (plus extra for filling)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (for filling)
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tbsp milk or cream (for glaze)
Instructions
- Warm the milk and 1/4 cup butter together until butter melts. Let it cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add warm milk mixture, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Roll dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Roll up tightly from the long edge. Slice roll in half lengthwise to expose layers.
- Braid the two halves with cut sides up and coil into a spiral.
- Place in a greased or parchment-lined baking pan. Let rise for 30–45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar with milk or cream to make a glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.
