Description

This classic guacamole is creamy, zesty, and packed with fresh flavor. It’s made with ripe avocados, lime juice, and simple mix-ins like onion, cilantro, and jalapeño for a little kick. Perfect as a dip or topping for tacos, nachos, and more!


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados

  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped

  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely diced (optional for heat)

  • 1 Roma tomato, diced

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)

  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

 

  • 1/4 teaspoon black peppe


Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.

  2. Mash the avocados with a fork until smooth, or leave a little chunky if preferred.

  3. Add the chopped red onion, garlic, jalapeño, tomato, lime juice, and cilantro.

  4. Stir everything together until well combined.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Serve immediately or cover tightly and refrigerate for up to 2 hours to chill.


Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cumin or a splash of hot sauce.

  • To keep guacamole from browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface or cover with a thin layer of lime juice before sealing.

 

  • Use ripe but firm avocados for the best texture
