Description

A comforting and easy-to-make baked chicken and stuffing casserole that combines tender chicken, savory stuffing, and creamy soup for a hearty meal.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or chopped
  • 1 (6 oz) package stuffing mix
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the stuffing mix with hot water. Stir until fully moistened and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the cooked chicken to the soup mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Spread the chicken mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Spoon the prepared stuffing evenly over the top of the chicken mixture.
  7. Dot with butter if desired for extra flavor.
  8. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes, or until bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  9. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup for variety.
  • Add frozen mixed vegetables for extra nutrition and texture.
  • Use rotisserie chicken to save prep time.
