- 8 oz lo mein noodles
- 1/2 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinating beef)
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup snow peas
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 3 tbsp soy sauce (for sauce)
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, toss sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining oil to the skillet. Stir-fry bell pepper and snow peas for 2-3 minutes.
- Add garlic and ginger; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return the beef to the pan. Add cooked noodles and pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and beef broth. Toss everything to combine well.
- Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until heated through and coated in sauce.
- Top with green onions and serve hot.
Notes
- Use fresh lo mein noodles if available for best texture.
- Flank steak or skirt steak works well due to its tenderness when sliced thin.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like carrots, mushrooms, or bok choy.
