Description
A classic Southern dessert featuring layers of creamy pudding, vanilla wafers, and ripe bananas, topped with whipped cream.

- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 (5.1 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 cups cold milk
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping, thawed
- 1 (12 oz) box vanilla wafers
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gently fold in half of the whipped topping until smooth.
- In a 9×13 inch dish, layer vanilla wafers on the bottom.
- Add a layer of banana slices over the wafers.
- Spread a layer of pudding mixture over the bananas.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with pudding on top.
- Top with remaining whipped topping and garnish with additional banana slices or crushed wafers if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
- Use firm but ripe bananas to prevent them from becoming mushy.
- For extra flavor, try using banana-flavored pudding.
- Best served chilled and within 2 days of preparation.
