Description

Banana Bread is a moist, sweet quick bread made with ripe bananas. It’s a comforting classic that’s easy to make and perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas with melted butter.
  3. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Sprinkle in the baking soda and salt, then mix well.
  5. Add the flour (and cinnamon, if using) and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the nuts or chocolate chips, if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and moisture.
  • Don’t overmix the batter to keep the bread tender.
  • Banana bread can be frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Try adding a streusel topping for extra texture and sweetness.
