Description

These Banana and Peanut Butter Chewy Sticks are soft, nutritious treats made just for dogs! With wholesome ingredients like banana, peanut butter, oats, and a touch of egg, they’re easy to make and gentle on sensitive tummies. Perfect for training, snacking, or spoiling your good boy or girl!

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed

  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour (or oat flour for a gluten-free option)

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for moisture and shine)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix the wet ingredients:
In a medium bowl, mash the banana and mix in peanut butter, egg, and coconut oil if using.

  3. Add dry ingredients:
Stir in oats and flour until a soft dough forms. If it’s too sticky, add a little extra flour; if too dry, add a splash of water.

  4. Shape the sticks:
Roll dough into small logs about 4–5 inches long and 1/2 inch thick, or shape into smaller sticks depending on your dog’s size. Place on prepared baking sheet.

  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until sticks are golden and slightly firm to the touch. For a chewier texture, bake on the lower end; for a crunchier finish, bake a little longer.

  6. Cool completely before serving to your pup. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for longer shelf life.

Notes

  • Always use peanut butter with no xylitol, as it’s toxic to dogs.

  • These treats are best served as an occasional snack and not as a meal replacement.

  • Great for dogs of all sizes — just adjust stick size accordingly.
