Description

A rich, sweet, and tangy balsamic glaze perfect for drizzling over vegetables, meats, or even desserts.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour the balsamic vinegar into a small saucepan and place over medium heat.
  2. If using, add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer.
  4. Simmer for about 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vinegar has reduced by half and has a syrupy consistency.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool. The glaze will thicken further as it cools.
  6. Transfer to a jar or squeeze bottle for storage.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a month.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar, or omit it entirely for a tangier glaze.
  • Use a non-reactive saucepan like stainless steel to avoid metallic taste.
