Description

A modern take on the classic Middle Eastern dessert, Baklava Cups offer a nutty, sweet, and crunchy experience in a convenient bite-sized phyllo shell.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 30 mini phyllo shells
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup pistachios, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and place mini phyllo shells on a baking sheet.
  2. In a bowl, combine chopped walnuts, pecans, pistachios, and ground cinnamon.
  3. Spoon the nut mixture into each phyllo shell.
  4. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add honey, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Stir until combined and slightly thickened.
  5. Drizzle the warm syrup over the nut-filled shells.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the shells are golden and nuts are toasted.
  7. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use almonds or hazelnuts as substitutes for the nut mixture.
  • Add a pinch of cardamom or nutmeg for a spiced variation.
  • Top with whipped cream or dark chocolate drizzle for extra indulgence.
  • Mini tart shells can be used if phyllo shells are unavailable.
