Description

This baked lemon butter cod is a simple, healthy, and flavorful seafood dish made in just 25 minutes. Perfectly flaky cod is baked with a zesty lemon butter sauce for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place cod fillets in a lightly greased baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the lemon butter mixture over the cod fillets, making sure they are well coated.
  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cod flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove from oven, garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh cod for best flavor, but frozen cod works if properly thawed.
  • Pair with rice, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon juice to your taste preference.
