Description

A hearty, comforting casserole layered with seasoned ground beef, savory baked beans, and melted cheese—perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups baked beans (about 1 can, 15 oz)
  • 1 cup tomato sauce or ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add diced onion and garlic to skillet; sauté 3–4 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in baked beans, tomato sauce, Worcestershire, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Transfer mixture into a 9×9‑inch (or similar) baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  7. Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let rest 5 minutes, then garnish with parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of chili powder or cumin.
  • To make it gluten‑free, check that baked beans and Worcestershire sauce are GF certified.
  • Leftovers refrigerate well for up to 4 days.
  • Freezes well; thaw and reheat at 350 °F until warmed through.
