Authentic Greek Chicken Souvlaki is a traditional Greek dish featuring marinated grilled chicken skewers bursting with Mediterranean flavors, perfect for a healthy and satisfying meal.

- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and mix well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before grilling.
- Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Grill the skewers for about 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
- Serve hot with pita bread, tzatziki sauce, and your favorite sides.
Notes
- Marinating overnight enhances the flavor.
- Use thighs for juicier souvlaki.
- Can also be cooked under a broiler if a grill is not available.
