- 1 lb ground beef or ground pork
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs or panko
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 2 green onions, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, bread crumbs, egg, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix until well combined.
- Form into small, even-sized meatballs and place on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, until cooked through and slightly browned.
- Meanwhile, make the glaze: in a saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and cornstarch. Stir continuously until thickened.
- Toss baked meatballs in the glaze until evenly coated.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.

- For a leaner version, use ground turkey or chicken.
- Add finely chopped water chestnuts for crunch.
- Swap brown sugar with honey or maple syrup for variation.
- Adjust spiciness with red pepper flakes or sriracha.
