Description

These Asian Crockpot Meatballs are tender, flavorful, and simmered in a savory-sweet Asian-inspired sauce. Perfect as an appetizer or served over rice for a full meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Sesame seeds and additional chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, garlic, and green onions. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them in a lightly greased slow cooker.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, grated ginger, red pepper flakes, and water.
  4. Pour the sauce over the meatballs in the slow cooker.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until meatballs are cooked through.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and additional green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, brown the meatballs in a skillet before placing them in the crockpot.
  • Serve over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
