Description

Amish Country Casserole is a simple, hearty dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights. Made with ground beef, pasta, and a creamy tomato-based sauce, it’s comforting, filling, and family-approved. Everything comes together in one dish and bakes up golden and bubbly.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup

  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 12 oz egg noodles

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (optional topping)

  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

  2. Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

  4. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, tomato sauce, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  5. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to combine.

  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.

  7. If using, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.

  8. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  9. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.

  • This casserole freezes well – perfect for make-ahead meals.

  • Add a can of corn or peas for extra veggies.
