Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the egg and almond extract; mix until combined.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet until a soft dough forms.
- Roll tablespoon-sized portions into balls and place on the baking sheet.
- Flatten slightly and press a whole almond into each center.
- Bake 12-15 minutes, until edges are golden.
- Cool on the sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
