Description

Crispy and flavorful edamame pods cooked in the air fryer with garlic, sea salt, and a touch of chili for a tasty, healthy snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz frozen edamame in pods
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, toss edamame pods with olive oil, garlic, sea salt, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Arrange pods in a single layer in the air fryer basket; cook for 8–10 minutes, shaking basket halfway through.
  4. Check for crispiness and cook another 1–2 minutes if needed.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl, sprinkle with lemon zest if using, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use low‑sodium salt or tamari for a gluten‑free option.
  • Adjust garlic and spice to taste—add a pinch of smoked paprika for a different flavor profile.
  • Serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime juice for brightness.
  • For a vegan umami boost, dust with nutritional yeast or sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
  • To reheat, pop back in the air fryer at 375°F for 2 minutes to restore crispness.
