Description

A festive and delicious cookie cake perfect for 4th of July celebrations, topped with patriotic decorations and bursting with chocolate chip goodness.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles (for topping)
  • Vanilla frosting (optional, for decorating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 12-inch round pizza pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
  9. Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  10. Once cooled, decorate with frosting and red, white, and blue sprinkles as desired.

Notes

  • Do not overbake for a soft and chewy texture.
  • Use gel food coloring in frosting for vibrant patriotic colors.
