- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Red, white, and blue sprinkles (for topping)
- Vanilla frosting (optional, for decorating)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 12-inch round pizza pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
- Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, decorate with frosting and red, white, and blue sprinkles as desired.
Notes
- Do not overbake for a soft and chewy texture.
- Use gel food coloring in frosting for vibrant patriotic colors.
